Sharepoint Batch Document creator testing

SharePoint Batch Document Creator copies properties from the list item to Microsoft Word document and uses SPFill Document module to fill content of the newly generated document with these properties.

Some explanation on how this module works below:

On the screenshot, you see fill performance test list with 1,000 items and "Batch fill" button in the ribbon. Press it and wait while the document library opens with generated documents from this list.

You are redirected to the document library with these 1,000 documents.

Now take a look at the last document (number 1000) opened in Microsoft Word. All list item properties are in this document content. You can also see the time when this document was generated in seconds (timer starts with button "Batch Fill" press action in the SPList).

TEST: Sharepoint Server 2010 vs Office Sharepoint Server 2007

We have tested item to document batch creation (1,000 items) on the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 platforms and got different results on the same virtual machines settings:

MOSS 2007: 1,000 documents were created in 78 seconds.

MOSS 2010: 1,000 documents were created in 53 seconds.

The Sharepoint servers' settings were as follows:

Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 virtual machine running on Hyper-V:
Virtual memory 6800MB, 2 virtual processors.

Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 virtual machine running on Hyper-V:
Virtual memory 6800MB, 2 virtual processors.

SQL Server Std 2008 virtual machine running on Hyper-V:
Virtual memory 4072MB, 1 virtual processor.

Hyper-V running on physical server:
